With a wet morning upon us our three man team is left to wonder if their voyage will start on time...or at all.Route Map
8 a.m. - We only had four days to get to Lake Placid and back before we ran out of time and had to get back to the real world.
12:30 p.m. - The rain is slowing, time to ride!
Rain's done - off with our rain gear!
7:30 p.m. - Longer day than we thought - good thing for good friends. A place to crash for the night.
7:00 a.m. - With a shitty night behind us the crew packs up and heads for the border.
12 noon - A few hours later we get to what will be our home base, Cranberry Lake, for the next 2 nights - or so we think...
With tents pitched and bikes unloaded we twist the throttle and haul ass to Placid.
4:00 p.m. - RAIN! Stuck in Placid for the night.
Dinner, 20 beers and a bunch of rye later... we make a quick stop for a 15 pack of beer for the walk back to the hotel.
12 noon - After a good night of drink we got on the bikes for a ride to the top of Whiteface. EPIC!
Engines off - coast from the top of Whiteface to the bottom. Awesome!
2 p.m. - Ausable Chasm - Here we come!
6 hours of riding later and we're stopped 5 miles from camp with a blown tire and the temperature sitting at 32°F, making for a rough end to the day.
8 a.m. - With such a bad night behind us it was great to start the morning with some coffee from the sweet old ladies camping next to us. God bless them for the oil, seeing as I left my fill cap off and lost most of mine.
10 a.m. - As most trips go, we were short on time and long on distance to travel. The rest of the trip was full throttle all the way home.
